ADMISSIONS

The general application for new students PreSchool-3 & PreKindergarten-4 (both in and out-of-boundary) and new out-of-boundary students Kindergarten through 5th for the 2010-2011 academic year will be made available on the District of Columbia Public Schools website starting January 28, 2010. If you would like to visit our school, please join us for an Open House.  At these events interested families will be able to meet Principal Wilhoyte, Brent teachers and parents, and hear more about Brent’s high-quality responsive education and unique museum magnet program.

Open Houses/Coffee Hours will take place on the following dates:

Tuesday, November 17, from 7:30 a.m. to 8:30a.m.

Tuesday, December 8, from 7:30 a.m. to 8:30 a.m.

Thursday, January 7, from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.

These events start promptly–so please do your best to arrive on time—and will be followed by a tour. Children are welcome!

January 28, 2010  Applications available on-line Jan 28

February 28, 2010  End of Application Process/On-Line Application must be completed

March 2, 2010  Lottery March 2

March 3, 2010  Results of Lottery will be posted online on March 3 and sent to families by mail on March 8

April 1, 2010  Submit intent to enroll by April 1

May 1, 2010  Submit registration form by May 1

SUMMER, 2010  Waiting list is worked through

Preference for Preschool-3 and PK-4 Lottery

(1) In Bounds with siblings, (2) In Bounds no siblings, (3) Out of Bounds with siblings,(4) Out of Bounds no siblings but lives with proximity to school (i.e. within 3* blocks), (5) Out of Bounds no siblings and without proximity to school

All returning Brent students in all grades, as well as new in-boundary K through 5th grade students receive placement for the next academic year and need not apply through the lottery.
