For the past two years, many of Washington’s most talented chefs have served up tasty signature dishes for “A Taste of the Hill,” a fundraising event that supports Brent Elementary. In addition to delicious gourmet food, the Spring Gala features amazing wines selected by sommelier Nadine Brown of Charlie Palmer Steak. Past participants have included Charlie Palmer Steak, Bistro Bis, Poste Brasserie, Sonoma, Matchbox, Belga Café, Sticky Rice, and Granville Moore’s.
Executive Chef Matt Hill of Charlie Palmer Steak participated last year and is happy to participate again. “This is a great event. Anything that we can do to support our community is a pleasure, especially when it benefits young people.”
In addition to food and wine, “A Taste of the Hill” features live music and fabulous auction items, ranging from vacation stays, artwork, dining gift certificates, theater tickets, and class gift baskets.
This year’s event will be held on April 17th at St. Mark’s Church on Capitol Hill. Tickets are $75; raffle tickets are $10 each or 4 for $25, when you purchase a ticket. All proceeds go to support the PTA programs at Brent Elementary School, including physical education, Chinese, art supplies, scholarships for before and aftercare programs, support for staff professional development, monthly family nights with childcare and dinner for kids, and field days for children on days when school is not in session.
