Sara Rouse, museum studies

Sara Rouse will be teaching museum studies as a special, focusing on the roles and importance museums play in our world, particularly in D.C. She grew up in Chapel Hill, N.C., and earned her bachelor of arts degree in art history and international studies from the University of North Carolina – Chapel Hill. “I fell in love with the museum world and educating others about art and museums,” says Ms. Rouse, who earned her master of arts degree in art history and museum education from Tufts University and is currently an Inspired Teaching Fellow. She has worked for the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston, the National Building Museum and the Smithsonian American Art Museum as a museum educator. She loves to cook and travel and has been to Central America, Europe, Africa and Asia (her favorite trip was to Thailand). Why did she choose to work at Brent? “With the museum focus?! There could not have been a better fit!” she says. “I love getting students excited about a topic that I am so passionate about.”
