Dr. Anne Bruehl , school psychologist
Dr. Anne Bruehl grew up in Richmond, Va., graduated from the College of William and Mary, then attended the University of Florida for her master’s degree and Ph.D. in school psychology. She has been working in schools and clinical settings for the past six years and has had a wide range of unique opportunities working with children, teachers and families to address various emotional-behavioral and learning concerns. She enjoys working out, reading, “trying to cook,” and playing with her dog. Dr. Bruehl came to Brent because, “This is a unique opportunity at a warm and wonderful school with a dynamic and talented faculty,” she says. “I feel extremely lucky and excited to be here.” She looks forward to supporting student growth across social-emotional, behavioral and academic domains, and will lead Brent’s student success team.
Student Support Teachers

Nikia Poche’ received her bachelor of arts degree in media studies from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro and additional training in infant and child development. She has created youth activity programs for the Boys and Girls Club of Greensboro, N.C., and served as a D.C. Teaching Fellow.
Sean Connolly was born in Methuen, Mass., and received his undergraduate degree from Syracuse University and his master’s degree from Johns Hopkins University. He has been a special education teacher for the past eight years at the Kingsbury Day School in Washington, D.C. He enjoys sports, especially football, baseball, basketball and lacrosse, and enjoys cooking and traveling with friends and family. He and his wife, Megan, have two daughters, Madeline, age 7, and Olivia, age 5, and just returned from a trip to Cooperstown, N.Y., Ottawa, Ontario, Burlington, Vt., and Salisbury, Mass. “I chose to work at Brent because of its mission, principal, location and strong ties to the local community,” he says.
