Third Grade

Ms. Hill, 3rd grade teacher | Class Headlines | room 300
JoAnn Hill will begin her eighth year of teaching, all at Brent. Originally from Nazareth, Pa., she earned her bachelor’s degree from Muhlenberg College and master’s degree in elementary education from Arcadia University. She and her husband have traveled throughout South America, Asia, Europe and Africa. She also enjoys cooking, scrapbooking, reading, opera, theater, skiing, movies and watching football, and she just got a dog. “Building a community where children feel safe and excited to collaborate and share ideas is extremely important to me,” she says.
Andrea Bausmith, Third Grade Teacher
Andrea Bausmith grew up in Connecticut and received a bachelor of science degree from Syracuse University in inclusive elementary and special education. She first joined Brent during the 2009-2010 school year. Before that, Ms. Bausmith worked at the Lindamood-Bell Learning Processes, a tutoring center for young children through adults that focuses on reading and comprehension through a unique imagery approach, where she had been working one-on-one with students ages 6 to 18 to improve their reading skills. “I chose to join the Brent community because of the exciting school spirit that is apparent when speaking with any Brent parents, teachers and students,” she says. “I just love being a part of the Brent community!”
