Equity & Inclusion Dialogue Group

Our Mission

To advance Brent’s commitment to cultivating an equitable and inclusive community where everyone feels a strong sense of belonging. We center race, equity, social justice, class, gender, disability, and inclusion – all in collaboration with the Brent staff and leadership, the PTA, and LSAT.

Through authentic relationships, community-led change, we work to remove barriers to opportunities and resources based on identity.

What We Do

For the third year running, we will:

  • Build relationships and connection
  • Explore and address equity issues specific to our school community
  • Grow knowledge and skills

The core of our work is dialogue, which we believe is foundational for equity and inclusion.

Who We Are

  • Caregivers and staff of all races, identities, and backgrounds at Brent
  • Caregivers who built knowledge and connections as part of sustained dialogue groups

Session Topics

  • Our Intersectional Identities
  • Power and Politics
  • White Supremacy Culture
  • Oppression and Privilege
  • The History and Purpose of Schooling
  • Inequity and Opportunity in Our School Community

Our monthly dialogue sessions run from September to May and are held either hybrid or in-person. Look for more information in Tues News.
